It felt bruised there for about 30 mins. Does anyone know whether I could have harmed the baby or whether this is where organs are - I'm 6 months pregnant.

I would deffinately call your midwife or Dr. and see what they think. They will most likely just tell you to rest, drink water and monitor your babies movements.

You shouldn't be moving furniture girl!! Take it easy!

I ran into the corner of some furniture when i was about 7 mos along ( granted my belly was the first thing to enter the room at that point). I did end up with a nice sized bruise which the Dr kept track of but nothing happened ... it was near my belly button too.
Just keep an eye on it as the baby has alot of cushioning or go to the dr just to ease your mind.
Hope this helped some.

You baby is bouncing around inside you in lots of fluid and as long as you can still feel the baby move then everything should be fine. Don't take the chance tho, phone the midwife first thing and if you see her she will be able to check the babies heart rate. I'm sure all is ok tho and as long as your not in pain then fingers crossed.
Good luck xx

Ring the hospital you are booked in with and talk to a midwife to put your mind at rest. I'm sure the baby is fine tho, it sounds like you hurt yourself rather than your baby. There's a lesson to be learnt tho honey, don't move furniture whilst you're pregnant - it's not worth the risk!

You're more likely to have hurt your tummy muscles.

You know you shouldn't be moving furniture - your body's not in it's usual state, and you're more likely to damage yourself - as you have.

Check your baby's movements this evening. If you don't notice movements, get yourself checked out.

You also run the risk of going into labour early by doing heavy lifting, pushing or pulling - why risk it?

Be careful!

Go to the doctor to check it out. But, your uterus is strong and hard now and provides a great sheild for you developing baby. More than likely no harm done!

Call the hospital and arrange an ultrasound. This can check the babies health, nutrient and blood flow etc etc. And stop doing strenous things while pregnant!

It is highly unlikely that you hurt the baby. He is well insulated. However, you have no business moving furniture because you could bring on early labor and lose your baby.

Your baby should be fine, it is protected by the amniotic fluid, but if you are concerned at all, you should go to hospital and get checked out...they will not be nasty with you for being concerned about your child :)

I hope that everything is okay for you all :)

You should go to the doctor or urgent care. They can hook you up and monitor the fetus. Better to be safe than sorry.
