because people's political identities are not arrived at through logic alone--it has to do with culture, family, religion, location and a host of other things that determine how you self identify politically.

Once that identity is set it is held like a religious belief--largely through faith.

What you cite as an example is not a trait unique to the right. People on the left also delude themselves--it is easier than accepting that your political identity might be wrong.

Sorry I don't know what "facts" you are referring to. I do know there are alot of liberals constantly bashing our president, which is just plain wrong no matter what party he is in. We are at war, it is no time to be showing disrespect to the president. Dissent and disrespect are two different things all together. Those lines have been blurred by the left since 9/11 sadly.

The republicans who say that, are the ones who have no argument, so they push it off as "the liberal media". It's quite funny, actually.

Liberals arn't any different....they have their flaws too and i don't see them admitting to it anymore than republicans do.....it's human nature to deny your faults and stand up for you beliefs, whether you are republican, democrat, communist, or the green party.
