Personality, in my opinion, is a direct result of caregivers/parents in the early stages of one's life. If not molded properly, personality disorders can result, which are inflexible and difficult if not impossible to change. Scary stuff if you read about them, you'll find a lot of personality disorders in a prison.

Mental disorders, such as bipolar, depression and schizophrenia are hereditary. The nature vs. nurture battle, in my opinion, doesn't apply when it comes to personality.
