whatever the manufactuer calls for.I have a tractor with a hydraulic system and a hydrostatic trans. ant the both use hydraulic oil. I would caution about what brand you use as some oils may deteriorate your seals. again go with manuf. recommendations.

I looked this up the other day for someone else, and it depends.
If it's a regular hydrostatic then it most likely uses Mobil 422 Fluid.
But if the transmission is made by Peerless then you would use 20w20 CD Grade motor oil.

On a Ford product not something... the cautioned P/S fluid is transmission fluid. On others P/S fluid is slightly lighter hydralic fluid than Transmission fluid... slightly and you'll be high-quality yet extra beneficial than 2-3 oz..whether and that i could be changing the transmission fluid. do any opposite direction around.. do not propose tranny fluid in one calling for p/s fluid yet look them pass without problems
