Your not letting ur children down at all...at least ur being man enough to take care of them and send their mothers child support...more than i can say for most...if ur having trouble living after child support is taken out get a second job or talk to their mother to see if u can lower the payment...good luck

I feel your pain. This is a bad time of the year to feel that way too. You just have to explain the situation to the kids and let them know what the true meaning of Xmas is. People don't understand that when you are in this situation how hard it can be.

People on here (answers) will say get a pt job or find more hours on the job but that is not always possible. And hope and pray some emergency doesn't come up such as car problems or home repairs. I am getting use to scraping by but it is not a pleasant feeling.

For what it's worth I still wish you a happy holiday's and I hope and pray things get better for you

my kids dad is on a good wage but that is until the csa got him and he came for me big style thinking the £90 a week went straight in my pocket which in fact we only get to keep £10 of it.
he is a good dad but he cant afford to buy anything for them now because of the csa. after paying bills out of his weekly wage he is left with hardly anything.
he still blames me though :-(

My friend is paying the CSA for his children, then the CSA stopped the direct debit - not once, not twice but three times! He wanted to pay but they kept 'forgetting' to take the money. So now he has an order against earnings so his employer pays direct... and guess what, they still get it wrong!

Sorry to hear this but the CSA is mostly only used when Dad's haven't contributed for a long period of time.
I put a claim in three years ago and have still not received a penny, my son will be 6 after Xmas and his Dad has given me £200 in all those years.

you may want to get them presents but I'm sure they benefit more from the csa payments which buy them food and clothes. why should their mother be left struggling to look after them on a pittance from the state? why should the state pay for your kids at all? you must have known children were expensive when you had them, so tough luck

i quite sympathise with you and i hope you dont mind this answer but a few years ago i meat a friend who i haden,t seen since school , ( we are in our late 40,s ) and i joked "how are you married, divorced ,CSA after you etc." and he said to me "NOT ANY MORE , THEY WOULDN,T DARE COME AFTER ME AS I,M A HIGH RISK CASE " on asking him what he meant he told me that after many years of her keeping on and the bloody CSA knocking on the door he said enough was enough and he stabbed her . of coarse he went to prison for 12 months but now they wont ask him for a bean .. please dont think i,m giving advise but your not alone and in desperate times people do desperate things
