I've been breeding them for a few years now and that would be a huge YES. It's normal to see nipping of the fins and such in most any fish but betta are quite aggressive. If you happen to have a male let him sit by a mirror for a few minutes and watch him puff up and show off (It isn't healthy to do this often or for extended periods of time). If that were another betta within reach instead of his own reflection you'd have a fight on your hands. Females however can usually get along if the tank is large enough.
If you happpen to be asking because you plan to breed introduce them slowly and in seperate tanks. A quick web search would provide some useful guides.

female Betta's would be housed in the comparable tank if: a million)The tank is sufficiently vast and a couple of)There are sufficient female Betta's that the aggression is sent flippantly by using out the team (additionally, it relies upon on the guy character of the fish)

In the wild they would fight, and loser would leave. This doesn't work out well in a tank. Note that males and female betta can't live together either. In the wild a male stakes out a territory, and mates with any willing female that comes along. (Unwilling females get driven off.) After mating the male defends his bubble nest from all comers including his mate. (Thus in the aquarium you need to remove the female after mating.)

Yes the male beta is very territorial and will kill another male, this is only when they are both males if you were to put a female then it would be OK but I suggest you keep a close eye on them.

Yes if you put two MALES together. Sometimes male and female get along sometimes not. I wonder how they have eggs if their trying to kill each other?

males will, so do not put their tanks near each other either!! also, do not put a mirror near it. the male will try so hard to hill his reflection, and will wind up killing himself!
females are generally fine together, but female betas are very rare.

isnt that why they are kept seperate at pet stores? they even sell little walls to insert in your fish tank to keep them seperate.
