I can ping the printer. I can communicate to it through the web-page. But I can't seem to install the stupid printer it doesn't find it on my local home network.
I have my local network setup with manual IP addresses. could anybody help

Are you using the install disk or adding the printer through the Add Printer Wizard? If you are using the Wizard you want to make sure you are selecting a local printer and than adding a TCP/IP port or and HP TCP/IP port.

The web page goes over port 80, the printer may be using a port you are blocking. Did you check any firewall settings?
