Someone who lived in a Roman Province?

I assume the "r" on the end of "provincer" was a typo.

A Roman province was a territory of the Roman state. Everything outside of south and central Italy was a province, including what is now northern Italy. Sicily became the first province and the First Punic War with Carthage was sparked over this land.

Provinces were most frequently acquired through conquest, but not always. Some of Rome's territory was acquired via treaties, or even through the will's of foreign kings who had no heirs, as happened with Pergamum.
