Yes, for the most part. If you take the pill, it will help regulate your period so it comes exactly every 28 days. It can also help relieve pms symptoms like cramps as well. It can help relieve acne, and it is also birth control! All in one. Make sure you're not at risk for blood clots b/c the pill raises that risk. Also, don't take the pill if you smoke!

The use of birth control (BC) pills may affect the length of your period. BC "usually" leads to an improved menstrual cycle (i.e., less bleeding between periods, more consistent menstrual patterns, etc.) However, each individual is different, therefore your best response would be from a health care professional.
From my personal experience, the length of my period was reduced to 3 - 4 days while I took BC, compared to 5 - 7 days when I was not taking BC.

It can..but it all depends on when you start taking your first pill again. The sugar pills are for about 7 days. Start your new birth control pills after say like 3 days or so. It will shorten it.

Not neccessarily. Being on Birth Control will help "regulate" your period. If your cycle is noramlly 4 or 5 days, it will always be the same duration, but it will be on schedule each month if taking the pill. Many women take the pill to help regulate their period. Many of them love knowing the exact day their period will arrive each month.
But remember, being on birth control pills for several years can cause health concerns later in life.

it will make it regular. If you bleed more than 7 days it will shorten it. If it does not make you regular then it is not strong enough for you and it is not protecting you from getting pregnant so you would need to get back with your doctor and get the right one.
