Please visit this link and tell me if this laptop is any good? Is a core 2 duo processor better than the 64bit processor you get with this laptop? And will this laptop run BF2142 and other games with ease??

That one looks fine. I would suggest upgrading to 2GB of ram for gaming though. The core 2 duo will be great and the go7600 should run bf2142 and other newer games just fine.
Don't go with alienware, they have slipped in recent years and now are just coasting on their name. They started out as a small botique store that sold awesome custom systems and as they grew they starting losing the cutting edge in favor of price points.
If you look other places look into the dell xps series, and voodoo pc's has some killer laptops. Right now I'm an acer 8204 with an ati x1600 2 gb of ram and a core duo t2500 and this thing plays new games perfectly.
For a gaming laptop you're probably going to spend around 2 grand at the bottom, and more likely 2500-3000. You do get what you pay for though, and if you really want or need a latop it's worth it, vs a desktop and the lower prices they provide.

Overall it is a good midrange gaming machine and the price looks decent. It should run WB2142 with relative ease on mid to mid-high detail range. Don't expect good battery life though!

It has a decent graphics card (which is the most important thing on a gaming laptop):

VIDEO CARD: Built-in Mobility™ NVIDIA GeForce GO 7600 256MB PCI-Express X16 Video

And 1GB of memory. The Core 2 Duo smokes at any speed and is very overclockable. You could probably even squeeze a significant amount out of the graphics card also!

Just make sure you watch the temperature if you overclock!

Here's the one I've been drooling on...

The specifications for your choice seem a bit sketchy...processor speed? supports DVD Ram (XP supports that) Is that the way you want to go? Not DVD+R or DVD-R.

Just some advice: NEVER overclock a laptop graphics card. You will kill it. You'll be lucky enough to not have it fry while using it normally. And if you overclock it, it voids your warranty.
