I love to sing but i think I am too old to start a carrer as a singer. when I sing in private places they love how I sing, I wish to be discovered and have a great singing career but I am afraid becasue I am too old maybe. I am 37 years old .. Is that too old ?

Maybe your too old to be on American idol, but that doesn't mean you can't sing. There are choirs and nightclubs out there do what you love. Just bear in mind that making money from it may not easy or possible my brother is a musician played in his first symphony when he was 15 he presently is still a musician but has had jobs driving a cab as well as a security guard. Music is not an easy profession

No! I know some ones age who is over 37 and has a career in singing!! Have you maybe considered giving some private lessons since you're so good? If you're that good, send your audition tape or CD to a record company. But if you get shot down, don't worry, keep your head up,and stay confident! there is someone out there who will appreciate your voice!

Jenny~Who cares how old you are to start singing! A lot of great singers are old, who cares! Unfortunately for the first answer I am pretty sure the oldest you can be for American Idol is 29. But there is always "America's Got Talent". But I know for sure that if you really try to be a very great singer, you can achieve your dreams. More power to ya :-)

Just do it
Life is too short for woulda coulda shoulda
Take that risk, but do it in small and smart steps.
Start singing in local clubs to get the experience. You may want to enter karaoke competitions that way you won't need a back up band right away.
go for it and don't look back.

Girl I'm 30. I'm not letting that stop me. You don't have to be 18 to be discovered. Even though it looks that way sometimes. If you ever notice, the older ones do a better job than the younger ones. Have more staying power.

No, if you love singing go for it. age never matters. there is singers who are older and still on stage. So stop this Y/A go do something. Good luck!
