Our government. Shame on us. We are one of the wealthiest countries in the world. We need universal health care. Medicare part D (the medication component) is a scam. Drug companies rip off the public to the tune of billions of dollars annually. Politicians don't want to touch this issue because it is hotter than a suicide bomber in Iraq.

Happens all the time at retail pharmacies. It's only going to get worse with medicare going broke in a decade. Some pharmacies, in Illinois, already refuse to accept Medicade, and a number of thinking of not accepting it. Pharmacies are not adding a huge dispensing fee to the meds. The medications are already very expensive when the pharmacy purchases them.

Of the seniors on Part D, most are satisfied with the program. The donut hole is seen, to many, as a necessary evil to avoid a repeat of Part C. Part C is the managed care medicare plan. Due to rules, the insurance companies could not make enough money to make a go of it, and so, they stopped accepting new applicants, and are in process of killing the program.

What a heart rending story.
Unfortunately, this is so hard to say...
Too many people are living too long on seven, eight, etc. medications.
We will never find the fountain of youth.
We will never stop seeing Medicare, etc. being abused and eating so much of our society's hard-earned financial support, because we do not know when to let go.
I'm young, so I think I can afford to say that, right? Not like I like the Christian Science in my distant background, which stopped me from going to doctors far too often- or did it?
I've had my life saved twice. Thank god, for my son's sake.
Still, I'd be the first one to tell you that I don't belong here on this earth.
The problem is, we don't ever want to let go. We can't die from old age. We can't die naturally, without some disease to blame it on, without some terrible statistic to add to.
We create the market for pharmaceuticals to go do their research, then b**** when we can't afford it. We drive this machine!!!! And shrug our shoulders or point fingers to avoid blame. Same thing with violent programming for kids. We ask for it, then complain about what it does to society.
Death comes to us all.
I'd much rather go when I'm only taking two medications, and I have been able to remember to take them on my own all my life!

it's nobody's fault.

If she were pleading with a checker for 300 dollars worth of clothing would you be asking the same question? After all we all got to wear clothing. Right?
