OST stands for original soundtrack. It has all the songs that were played in an anme season.

OST means Original Sound Track. The acronym OST is used for anime, but for movies and tv shows as well. When you are referring to an OST for anime, it usually means the Original Sound Track of a certain anime series. (example of this could be "Shakugan no Shana OST")
An anime can have multiple OST if the series goes on for more than 1 season. So each season has its own OST. If that season has a lot of songs in it, then there might be more than one CD for that season. (example of this could be "Naruto OST 1")
OSTs contain the opening and ending songs, and also the themes and instrumentals used in the anime. Sometimes they even have skits of the main characters with dialogue. Other times they have bonus songs at the end of the playlist to promote an artist or new anime series.
Sometimes, an anime series will also have "bonus" OSTs for holidays (an example of this would be christmas OSTs with the artists who sing opening and ending songs singing festive songs) and they also have karaoke OSTs for the same series where main characters might try and sing the opening and ending songs.
Oh to add to that, there are some acronyms for "opening" and "ending" songs. OP usually would mean opening song and END or ED could mean ending song. Acronyms for this may vary, but I have noticed that those are the most widely used.
