The springs will bolt up,but, thats not the only thing you need to make a true 3/4 ton. The springs just hold wieght. You also need to swap both front and rear axles as they are much heavier duty on the HD model. Transfer case and transmission are also heavier duty. The 3/4 ton designation isnt just springs, it is also able to pull more weight without the worry of drivetrain breakage (transmission, t-case, brakes etc.) This can make your truck more capable, but , the smaller things about the swap will get very tedious and expensive. This makes for alot of fun down the line when you need to repair something and can remember which truck you need to buy the parts for. If you are capable and mechanically inclined, it will make your truck unique. If not, it will be year long pain in the neck. The trans mount for the 2500 is diiferent slightly, hope you know a good welder. Mine came out great ( i did the exact same thing), but, im also more inclined than most. Take your time and do it right, and take pics for reference. My 1500 now has a 8.1L that makes 540 hp at the wheels and has 10" of total lift. I bought the 2500 wrecked for 1000 dollars. I got lucky and it still took me 4 months. Good luck!

There are more differences between the 3/4 ton and the 1/2 ton than just the suspension. On the 2500, it has a stronger frame and some of it is boxed whereas the 1500 is a straight open framed truck. Yes, you can beef up the suspension and I believe the 2500's suspension will bolt right on but you still won't have a true 3/4 ton truck. The 1500 (even the W/T) only has a 5 bolt pattern wheel where the 3/4 ton is 6 and sometimes 8 lugs for heavier duty.

to beef it up just add 1 or 2 leaf springs to yours. best done in a spring shop so that the u bolts are properly torqued and retorqued.
