Why is NJ going to have a bear hunt in March when the babies will need their mothers to survive since they won't be able to fend for themselves. How imoral that is and downright wrong shame on NJ, not the people living there just those that have approved this hunting.

I'm from NJ and don't approve of that. I think it's sad how hunters go and kill bears leaving the cubs defenseless probably to die without their mother. Their excuse for that is that since people live near the woods where the bears are, they are a threat to the residents and need to decrease the population of bears. I think we shoud find another way to control this problem because I dislike the fact that poor bears are going to die and their cubs will probaby die too without them.

The reason the hunt is in March is to avoid the scenario you just mentioned. The bears are coming out of hibernation at that time and the mating season will not yet have begun. So there will be no new babies in need of their mothers.
Bears attacks on people in New Jersey have escalated over 1000% in the last ten years. And all things considered, March is the best time time to do it -- BEFORE the mating season.

I guess NJ decided the bears were too dangerous to keep trapping and removing since they keep coming back. People were coming home to find bear in their homes so what do you suggest they do?

This is very disturbing news. I live in NJ. I am going to have to find out more about this.
Last I heard they were not going to allow it.

im actually in jersey and yea..the bear thing is sick!..coz the thing thats happening is that there is over population of the bears..but the bears are where they are supposed to be...its their land but over development of land in jersey is causin this action to take place...also those rich people who go and build houses in "wilderness" blame it on the bears...
so if they all go to the wild..where will all the Bears go to??..
so sick!..
