You'll need a wireless router. They can be had anywhere from $40-$100 at any electronics store (maybe not Radio Shack, but BestBuy, CircuitCity, or any computer store).
Note, this router is wired to the modem, but wireless to the laptop. You will still need the modem.

You will need to buy a wireless router. However, it would be much easier to set up if you make sure that your router has a built in modem

I can certainly help you as I use broadband on my laptop by wi-fi. Just tell me have u broght broadband router(modem) from ur provider. Is provider is BSNL ? You have to use a Wireless (Wi-Fi) Router. If u are using broadband from BSNL, bye Huawei MT842 wireless router , it is available in BSNL. It's cost is rs.2000. Also wireless router from D-Link avilable. Onw most IMPORTANT THING- After buying router please configure router with qulified technician as it is difficult also tell him to set router on Self mode that is they feed ur username and password in router so as u start router it connects to internet and on laptop you have to just search for wi-fi network and select name of router thats all ! ! ! Also if u bye MT841, I can help u to configure it as I have MT842 and I know how to configuure it . VERY IMPORTANT- When usinh a wi-fi router, you must sitch off power of router as wi-fi router is Self ( Feeded username and password in it) so if u shut down laptop or don;t use net and keep just on router it will send some data and u will be charrged unneccesarry. Email me anytime for help and friendship. EMail- maheshpatil47@yahoo.co.in

buy a router and don't forget to put a secret code through the modem to avoid your neighbours to use your net line.
