I have not purchased one, I feel the same why, when I listen to music it's either in my car or office or at home. I download music and save it on a CD and that works great for me.

ipods are the greatest invention of the 21st century. My ipod is the best gift I ever received - I listen in the car, when I'm falling asleep, at the gym, and thru the ipod stereo thing in my house. It lets you listen to embarrassing music privately, and not waste $$ on whole cd's when u only want one song - u can also avoid the judgement of the music store cashier when buying 80's soft rock. Not that I do that.

I cant drive and I have to walk at least 30 mins every day to get to school and stuff, I always listen to my ipod to kill the time. its also pretty useful when you're in a room with people you dont want to talk to :P I love my ipod to bits but the battery power is kinda crappy on it, it only ever lasts a few days...when I was buying my ipod though I didnt buy it to be 'cool'. I bought it cus I knew apple is a decent brand, I love the design and they have an excellent online help centre. I got my ipod for christmas last year and-despite being dropped down stairs and on streets several hundred times-its still in pretty good condition

I have an iPod they are pretty cool. I usually use it when I'm doing homework when im exercising or on the computer. But like everybody else said the battery life sucks and it runs out quickly and sometimes the screen freezes up on mine. If you want something similar to an iPod try an MP3 player.

you use them when you take the bus (i take it to and from school), when you're relaxing .. anytime you want!

i have an MP3 player instead of an ipod, and it works just as well. it just doesn't have the big screen with the little scroll wheel. ohh woooowww. but i have an fm radio built in, which none of the ipods have. i have screensavers on mine, which ipods dont have..

they're all the same. if you buy an ipod, you buy one to be "in the loop." i mean, there are so many different alternatives to ipods that are less expensive but just as good. so, i ask you ipod owners this; why buy an expensive ipod when you can buy something less expensive .. but with all the same qualities?

I use my ipod when I'm walking around campus by myself, to run errands, to exercise, or when I'm bored. They really are very conveinent.

Here's what makes ipods so great:
- They're lightweight and portable. You can carry them conveinently in your pocket.
- They play mp3s that are already on your computer and they convert other types of music files for you.
- The ipod features are in color and tell you what song is currently playing. You can't get that with a regular cd player.
- It is a lot cheaper to download songs and put them on your ipod than to constantly buy CDs.
- They play hundreds of songs whereas mixed CDs have a limit of up to 50.
- They have dozens of features that CD players just can't match such as holding pictures, an agenda, alerts, the time, measuring how many calories you burn, etc.
- Finally, they play videos (well the ipod video does). Just imagine if you were bored one day waiting by yourself and you could play your favorite show or music video in the palm of your hand!

ipods are great in the sience that they can also be annoying too

first of the good things about them

1 they have headphones

2 they are loud

3 they have a rangeof colors

4 u can download over 1,2000 songs , any songs that u like

5 u can just listen to all songs over again and again u like

the bad news to do with them is

1 the price but i not saying their not worth the price just only not in estimate

2 neighbours may complain about the nosie and u nerves get bad

3 they can easy get broke aka ( mostlikley pat the headphones )

4 not good quailty headphones sometimes sounds like u listning through only one earpiece

they arent as they are all cracked up to be. ive had mine for a while and have had some problems with it. it freezes, the battery meter is correct and it dies in about 5 hours after being "completely" charged. and unfortunately iTunes is a closed circuit and iPods can only use iTunes music and vice versa.

When you want to listen to music. When you've nothing else to do. When you want your friend at school to hear the new song you just heard/wrote.

Do you ahve a CD player? Whats the purpose of that? I mean when do you actually use it?
