i keep getting an " unable to read disc" message. its brand new out of the box.

It is either the CD or the Wii itself. You have too call Nintendo and tell them the problem. If the problem it is console you have to return it and they should have one back to you in about 14 days. If it is with the game , you should return it to the place you bought it and get an exchange or refund . If is was Wii Sports you should return to Nintendo and get another one.

i heard this issue before i beleave the solution to it is to just lay it down instead of placing it standing up lay it down as if it was a dvd player and it should work if you still have problems call nintendo
