The husband I have made a token effort, but our rental is older and has no exterior outlets... Still we're happy to have done something.
Do you ride around town and admire other's handiwork? Do you think some over do it like in the new movie "Deck the Halls" ?

gee, our house has no outlets outside either :)
it's not the biggest, nor the brightest, but the decorations were hung on the railing with care in hopes that the neighbors would look out and care. christmas cheer spreads like lights on happy houses, decorated with love by the kids and the spouses...
a few displays help to spread the cheer, and soon the neighbors get the spirit too. no-one is truly outdone when all take part in making a festive neighborhood of holiday cheer (but i must say the neighbors with the inflatable snowman have a leg up on many of the others.)

I think that mine are best, so far. Still lots of time to decorate though. I don't think best and most are synonymous. The house with the most lights in my neighborhood is a case in point. It looks like they were just thrown up without much thought. The sloppiness ruins what could be a very nice display.

We haven't done ours, but I trust we will. We have neighbors that far outshine us--that's ok., we're happy with what we have when we put them up. We used to ride around and look at lights, but we haven't for several years. If I said I weren't a little envious of the people that seem to have EVERYTHING on the house and in the yard in lights, I'd be lying. Then I think of their light bill, especially if they burn them constantly in the night until daylight. The thought of that payment calms me.

Haven't seen "Deck the Halls",but I do know some people over do the decorating bit.
It doesn't make any difference to me who has the best.

I am definately outdone. I also have no exterior outlets. I like driving around to see what other people have done.

We haven't even got our lights up yet. We put up token lights too. And ride around and enjoy other's lights.

In our block? Well we are really in to xmas but not alot of people put lights. Our neighbours are beautiful
