Don't know what you mean - are you asking if we need celebrities, or do we need to celebrate (the Holidays)??

if you are referring to celebrations think these are good as a person can get their mind away from all the concerns of the every day hum drum of life for a little while.
if you are referring to celebrities making big money by taking advantage of these celebrations then this is up to them as they have a right to try and make a living.

Hey whatever
I think you mean celebrities - the people rather than celebrations - the occasion.
Who are celebrities anyway?
Who decides?
I don't personally think that most of the so called celebrities in the UK are any such thing.
They seem to me to be media conceived and conceited.
People who garner real admiration do so on the basis of their achievements often in the face of real adversity. Unlike TV studio contrived events.
So I guess I'm with you on this one.

I could care less about them, they are all over paid, they do things for work that most people would do for free! and they get an obscene amount of money for doing this stuff. People that follow what celebrity's do in their daily lives obviously have a void in their own lives.

OF COURSE NOT!!!!!!!!
THEY COST US A FORTUNE REALLY HALF OF THEM DONT DO A PROPER DAYS WORK , AND HAVE TO PAY PEOPLE TO DO THE EVERYDAY THINGS WE NORMAL PEOPLE JUST GET ON AND DO ,------------I.E DAVID GUEST ANNOUNCED ON IM A CELEBRITY THAT HE DOESNT DO DISHES!!!!!!! WHO DOESNT DO DISHES????? AS SOMEONE SAID BEFORE WHO DECIDES IF YOU ARE A CELEBRITY - IF SOMEONE RISKS THEIR LIFE TO SAVE ANOTHER THEY ARE CONSIDERED A CELEBRITY BUT THEY ARE SOON FORGOTTEN. MANY OF THE SO CALLED CELEBRITY'S WOULDNT RISK THEIR LIFE FOR THEIR GRANDMA THEY DO BUGGER ALL FOR SOCIETY AND ARE HUGELY OVERPAID AND UNDERWORKED

no we dont, i think that celebrates are just somthing to help distract the public from more urgent concerns
think about this: the romans use bread and games to distract people from its true problems. now observe this: sports, movies, TV, video games. are pushed down our throats unmercifully while food prices still remain relativly cheep.--think about that

Celebrates for occassions or issues? It depends on what you're celebrating.

I totally agree with you on that one. Most of them were once normal, maybe nice, people that let fame, power and money blow up their ego. They contribute nothing to society and are whiners and show-offs. I am so tired of hearing about these over-paid, vacuous jack asses!!!
