Since cats always land on their feet and a dropped buttered bread lands butter side down on the floor, what happens if you tie a butter bread butter side up to the back of your neighbors cat and you climb up on the roof of your house and give a spinning twist to your toss. This is far more complex than I realzed. Email me with your results if you try this experiment. It would mean so much to me to know you are also scientifically minded.

The science of cat-flinging is indeed a complex one. An experimental series we conducted here at FP (Flying Pussy) Laboratories only last year was a variation of your theoretical test. We tied two kitties of equal size, weight and agility together, back to back, and flung them off our elevated testing scaffold several times to see if one would land on its feet oftener than the other, or whether they would tend to land randomly. We later buttered several kitties in random body locations and flung them (we found that tying bread to the kitties could not produce accurate results, as the bread was too fragile to survive a fall with a flailing feline). The results of this test were, alas, inconclusive, since it was not always easy to tell which body part had landed after the experiment had been completed.
We do suggest that you not try these or other kitty experiments at home, but leave it to us here at Flying Pussy to carry on.
Yours sincerely,

The cat would land on his left side 80% of the time and 10% it would land on his back and 5% on its feet. Don't know why but it just does. Did an experiment and that's what happened. Oh yeah the last 5% of the time was on it's face because the cat went unconscious at the end. Whoops! Well if you do the experiment too then please put down results also!

P.S. Cat made full recovery just walks sideways now ;-)

dont get me wrong, I love animals, but I had an episode when I was 13 years old about wanting to see if cats really land on their feet. We found a couple wild cats in the back yard and tossed thme over the high chainlink fence. Cats dont always land on their feet. But it is true that they have a tendencey to land on their feet more so than dogs or any other animals.
