1) Lead a congregation (things as sermons, baptism, etc)
2) Marry people
3) Bury the dead

This belongs in the religious category, as others have said.
But the clergy really has only one purpose: to bring their congregation closer to God. Everything else stems from that, and that is their main responsibility.
