I don't. It's not what he did. Alright, he argued with a couple of "hecklers" but he didn't have to say anythig racist. D.L Hughley, Eddie Murphy, and even the great Richard Pryor got heckled, but never once did they say anything racist. They usually made fun of the person's clothes or hair. They would get them so embarresed that they regreted saying anything rude at the show in the first place. It's what he said that got to me. "50 yrs. ago they would have you upside down with a fork up your ***." This my friends is KKK talk. I lived down in the deep south for 6 months and overheard these KKK savages talk like that b4. Also, the most disturbing is that I heard on the news Jamie Massada (club's owner) apologized and offered everyone that was there free tickets to another show and said Kramer would apologize b4 the show started. He didn't show up. So I am left to believe he is a racist who has no remorse and the only reason he said sorry in the1st place was to save his sorry career.

Wow it amazes me how people don't think he's not racist(but confused) or so easy to forgive him! He is a racist! Not even for saying the "n" word but because he talked about the torture methods the Klan uses. A normal non-racist wouldn't even know or talk like he did. Notice the people who are so quick to forgive are probably NOT black. The only reason I'm even getting this worked up is because if someone acted like that with Jewish people, Seinfield would've been fighting against them just as hard and probably wouldn't forgive ethier.

I agree with you 100%. Seems like Kramer's apology was only to save his career and that he really is a racist. The words just came out of his mouth to easily. Making the rounds of talk shows to apoligize makes him look more guilty.

I accept his apology, but I do think he struggles to relate to African Americans. There's nothing wrong with that. There's a lot of white Americans who are uncomfortable when exposed to the black culture. Many (not all, or even not necessarily a majority) African Americans behave in a way that is abrasive and often involves intimidation. That doesn't mean white folks are without flaws, but it is a reason why white folks feel uncomfortable with blacks. Quite frankly most racial tension isn't even a skin color issue... it's anxiety caused by cultural differences. It really doesn't help for people to get their underwear all tied up in a knot and throw around terms like "racist" or accuse folks of being part of the KKK every time somebody can't walk the "racial tightrope". Lambasting somebody for the slightest racial faux pas is really creating more problems that helping... what would help would be for both whites and blacks to make an effort to bridge that cultural gap. To expect one race or the other to bear the entire burden of solving racial issues just won't work. So to answer your question Michael Richards is not a racist, but he is a bit on the insensitive side.

the thing that got me mad is that when Jerry Seinfeld was on Letterman or some other talk show Kramer sent a video to apologize live and everyone in the crowd laughed. and Jerry Seinfeld got mad and told them to stop.
First of all he needed to shut up his friend was wrong for what he said.
Second i would've laughed to.
Third he should have shown up in person to let them know that he really didn't mean what he said but he didn't so it doesn't matter.

I just like the next person forgive ppl but Kramer didn't have to take it that far............. or at all.

maybe i can forgive him in like a week but right now idk.

I was wondering about that whole thing...I didn't know exactly what was said...he sounds very racist..which is sad b/c he's Jewish and should know what that feels like, but I guess he's got insecurities and complexes himself and wants to scapegoat an ethnic group...the origins of racism is insecurity I heard, and it seems to be the case w/him. Which is still no excuse to be racist; I don't pity him for if what he said sabatoges his career, which it more than likely will.

Hell NO, it shouldn't said it and the way it came out (that word) you knew he used it before...I think he knows he is in trouble with the Black community and he'll do anything to cover it up but some of us know he is racist so apologize not accepted....

PS His career is sorry and over!

I don't either. But as I've been saying, if Carlos Mencia had said it, would it be ok?

It you're white, don't you find terms that others use for us offensive? And since it's ok for rappers to use it in songs and call each other the n word, why isn't it offensive in that respect ?

Kramer is a racist. But I believe white people will forgive him, unfortunately.

I don't know but i watch the letterman show with him making apology and me and hubby were mad about it until we watched, and you can tell he was being very sincere about his apology. We all make mistakes and so many black comedians rant about the word cracker in there dialogue so i forgive him!!!

I dont think he is sorry he said it, I think he is sorry it was blasted all over the internet and television and everyone found out about it. If noone knew, there never would have been a public apology.

~we all have made some bad choices...
we all have delt w/ them in different ways...
it's not always easy to do the right thing in a bad situation... now add to that- the fact that the 'idiot act" was made in front of millions of people and that "idiot act" directly affects your cash flow / income / livelihood...
He made a dumb move.. and then another dumb move... he's doing the best he can to get thru it...
don't judge, and don't take his choices so personally. just pray for him.
