The sound doesn't work anymore.

Your PS2 doesn't generate sound... your TV does. If other channels are producing sound, check your PS2's connection to the TV. One of your audio plugins could be in the wrong spot.

if you have a bad connection. most likely its on the back of your ps2. try someone elses a/v cord. if that works, try yours on their console and tv. replace if thats it. if not, connect your game and cord to another tv. your tvs sound input could be bad. if not you have a bent or broken terminal on the back of your ps2, or an internal problem. a ps2 does generate sound, it just doesn't have speakers. be cheaper to buy new than have fixed unless you can get a broken one cheap or free and learn how to take it apart by taking it apart.

go buy a new one, there are cheap now cause the PS3 came out
