I say, good for her! You should be dang proud to have a wife that would stand up for her country like that.
Usually, it's the other way around, and women have stayed home and taken care of the kids for centuries.
No whining. You should be very proud of her and I am positive that your kids are as well.

I am also skeptical of your question, but that's what happens when one person on yahoo answers makes up a fake life and asks 73 questions meant to suck you into it.
I think if that's what happened you should be supportive and make sure you have a good support system of family and friends to help you deal with the kids. Either that or lose your mind. That's what I'd do if I got left home with 4 kids for who knows how long!

You need more details for this question.
Did you two discuss and agree on her leaving first? If you did, try to make things work and still communicate with her regularly. If you didn't agree, there is a serious problem and the marriage may not last. You could easily file for divorce and get custody of the kids based on abandonment.

Ha! Now it's YOUR turn to step up and take care of everything. You are a man. You can handle it. She did. now it's your turn. You will begin to understand why they say that each child is the equivalent of two fulltime jobs (per child). Now you have 9 fulltime jobs! If women can do it, so can you!
I think it wil bring you closer to your wife and children. You will appreciate her more and have genuine empathy for what she goes through. Your children will love you more for picking up the slack.

I'm surprised the allowed her to enlist. The Army turned away a friend of mine be cause he had 3 children. Good testing scores, excellent health and physique, and an Assoc. degree to boot. but too many children.
So I think that your lying OR that you need to support your wife in her decision to serve our country and support the family.

I think she did what was necessary to get training and to provide a reliable income plus medical care for her children while putting her life at risk for her country.

She wanted to be all that she could be without you and the children being apart of her life too. NOW your children can go to school and tell everyone their Mom wears combat boots to work.

Why would it be any different if you went off to war and left her? If the roles were different, how would you feel/react, and how would she feel/react? I think it's corageous for women to be in the armed forces, just like it's corageous for a man. Be proud of her and support her.

I think she's a patriot. Support her decision. She probably feels that you are capable of raising the kids in her absence. The question is...what do YOU think?
