I have just recently found out about Second Life. How can this possibly be better than the Sims 2 if you have to pay for everything? At least with Sims 2 you use the Exchange and get thousands of stuff free.

I want people to tell me why they think Second Life is better than Sims 2?

There really isn't much of a comparison. Sims 2 is not an online game, so you have no interaction with others, as in Second Life. I love Sims 2, but it's different. A lot of people went from playing The Sims Online to Second Life, as there is a similarity between those two.
Second Life: No "greening", no repetitive motions that you have to go through all of the time. You have more of the social aspect, and you can build items without being charged.

I have been an avid second life user for well over two Months now. At first I just kind of wandered and explored but it is free to get an account and trust me just type in Free in search and you can get literally thousands of hits for free things from clothes to avatars to building supplies. I only started to pay when i went into the real estate business and created houses to rent but for the casual user its a great experience and because everyone you see is Real makes it better than the Sims. You can find lots of new person friendly places and contact a second life greeter and they will show you the ropes. Give it a shot I think you will like it :)

Well I haven't played second life, but I HAVE played Entropia Universe (possible influence to Second Life? I think so!).
Entropia Universe is the same idea, you can put money into the game to buy stuff, and occasionally even make money and take it out! I have also played the sims.
To be honest I found that the sims got boring alot quicker than this other game... and another thing, you don't HAVE to pay money to play second life (as with my other game)... But either way, I now try to steer clear of these games, as they take up WAY too much time!!!
