Hello,
I'm doing my History Coursework, and I know that the British Army didn't advance very far within a long time period but I'm racking my brains because I can't remember the exact numbers. Wasn't it that they advanced something like 20km in 2 years? Or something? Any help would be great.

The lines did most of their moving at the end of the war (the last few months). I would go to http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/FWW.htm to locate the exact information you want because I am not sure what you are looking for.

Good Luck!!!

The entire western front (England, Frace and the US) moved back and forth a few miles at a time for most of the war. Eventually the combined Brit, French, and US forces forced Germany back to within their own borders and the Germans couldn't continue to sustain ther losses and they surrendered. The British introduction of the world's first tanks to the battlefield helped in several battles.
