I don't like their breadsticks and as far as the never ending salad bowl-that has changed. Several years ago they were bought out and and portion control became an extreme standard. For instance there are x amount of tomatoes in each sald, same for those hot peppers.
I had ordered a dish that said it had Artichoke hearts in it. When it arrived it was 1 artichoke heart mashed up and spread around the dish. I told the water I wanted another couple artichokes. He brought back a dish of smashed mush. There are no hearts!
Every piece of meat is weighed sothere's no chance of getting an extra ounce of meat.
A glass of wine, and I mean a SMALL glass is $7.00 here in Florida.
I much prefer to go to a local Italian restaurant where there's some pride in what's on the menu.

I only ate once at Olive Garden and I didn't care for it. I prefer to eat at a local Italian restaurant that has much better soups and entres.

Because I'm not one of those "only eat at independent restaurants" snobs who look down on chain restaurants. Local places are great, but so are chains, too.

And I say this after living in Chicago, which is the Italian food capital of the U.S.

Olive Garden is consistent and tasty. Also, local restaurants are usually more expensive.

Let me be one of the probably hundreds that responds with the reason" 'cuz of the breadsticks!" Also, not a bad place to eat if better than average Italian food is OK with you for the moment.
