Why don't (most) of you people understand?? Homosexuality is not bad. We all know what are genes determine everything about us. Guys we know that around 12-13 we stoped playing with girls and suddenly want to kiss them (and do other things). I've seen gay kids grow up - they act different from the begening of their lives.

There is only 1 Logical Conclusion - People are BORN gay. Theres NO evidence against this and theres TONS of evidence to support it.

And, for you "religous" people who think its wrong - Don't you also belive a "god" creates us all? Why would the god create gay people? Just another contradicting question for your false religion.

Homosexuality is not wrong - it's a genetic abnormality, no more different than a phsyical genetic abnormality such as elephantitus, or a mental genetic abnormality such as autism. The same abnormalities have been discovered in many different animals. However, since these animals die off in nature - they are much more rare.

P.s - im NOT gay. I knew when i was 13 that i LOVED girls. I can only imagine how hard it must be for males around the same age to develop opposite sex preferances.

I don't think it is abnormal at all. More like a God given variation, like being left handed.

Some of the ancient Greek city states gave the gays the jobs that would take them away from home, they were soldiers, doctors, priests, etc. This makes a lot of sense, the heteros could stay home and take care of their children while the gays were out taking care of the society. If we can get rid of our bigotry, we could do the same here today.

I think refering to homosexuality as "a genetic abnormality" is very insulting.

Actually, while there is plenty evidence to suggest homosexuality is not simply a "choice," that doesn't make it genetic. One doctor did a study that suggested birth order was a big factor. (Birth order of boys.) If there are 4 boys in a family, the 4th boy has a MUCH greater likelihood of being gay than the first boy. (But if a boy has 3 older sisters, he is still the first boy & therefore no more likely to be gay than the first boy of a family of 5 boys)

The suspicion is that with every boy a women has, she developes a bit of "immunity' against the male hormones. With each subsequent boy born to her, the has more "immunity" & the hormones in these boys may be counteracted by the "immunity" thereby increasing the likelyhood of being gay.

This could explain an evolutionary purpose for homosexuality. The prevention of overpopulation.

What ever cause one person to be gay & another to be straight, the important issue to to recognize it is not a choice. It is just part of who they are. And just a part. See the whole person.

There's so much irony in the question and the subsequent responses.

The original poster has edited to say he's not gay however the assumption in the responses was that he was and he was attacked as a result.

The question text lists homosexuality as an abnormality (which I disagree with) however the question was attacked as pro-homosexuality without a full comprehension of what was said.

But to answer the question - I think what people don't understand is the impact such reactions have together with a lack of core issues on all sides of the debate. Most people are aligned with one side or the other of the issue and have a good grasp of the arguments for that side, but don't truly open their mind and consider all sides.

Amen, true that, good points! Some Christians hate gays is because they misunderstand the Bible. The Bible is a historical document, and should be interpretted for its overall meaning, not specific details that are no longer historically relevent. Sodomy, in the old bible definition, was sex that did not contribute to reproduction. This made sense when Christians were a persecuted minority. Homosexuality did not produce offspring, so it was considered detrimental to the Christian people. Nowadays, this no longer applies. There are plenty of Christians, and Christian couples can have sex for purposes other than making babies. Most are even encouraged to, since sex "keeps relationships healthy." Evidently, the definition of sodomy has changed. But gays are still viewed as Sodomites! A good Christian woman can give her huband oral sex, but two gay men cannot have sex with each other. Neither of their acts will produce children, so by the old bible definition, both are sodomy. But the Christian woman is not considered a sodomite, whereas the two men are. This is a hyprocritcal discrepancy in Chritianity, and those following the faith should stop thumping their bibles when scolding homosexuals, and instead remind themselves of what the bible truly stands for: "Love thy neighbor."

I agree with you. It's no big deal. Not all gay men want to molest little boys. Straight men molest little girls all the time. So what does being gay making it nay worse? Another thing to is that it has been proven that being gay is a genetic thing. And for all the guys out there who think it's wrong to be gay, I bet youd happily watch two girls making out. But what if those two girls wanted to get married? would you let them?

I dont see why those of you who answered are offended, and getting defensive. He just answering an all too common question by various others who ask...but yet dont really listen to the answers given. If someone says they are born that way...another says.."No..it's a choice"...If someone says it's genetic..another says "no proof"...believe ask this type of question but believe what they want to believe anyway. So I dont know why they ask...I thank you for taking up for all of us "gays", it's nice to be defended. But you dont have to. Most of us know people believe what they want to anyway. A straight guy taking up for us makes me feel better though.
