Ok... I've been taking the Othrotricyclin birth control pill for almost 3 months now. My periods have been normal up until now.I started my period on November 21st, but it wasn't heavy, it was just light and it's mostly brown in color with a few spots here and there of light pink to red blood. It has been going on for 12 days now, which is very unusal for me. Along with this, I have just a tiny bit of pressure every now and then in the pelvic region. I've also been nauseated off and on. I've been getting a few headaches and light headedness. I haven't been running a fever or anything, although I have been sick with a cold (this makes the second cold within a 2 week time frame, which isn't normal for me either). I don't have any cramps associated with this at all. Sometimes it feels as though I have to pee, but I don't have to. I was wondering if anyone had any insight on what may be going on?

By the way, I'm 24 and I am married. My husband and I don't use condoms, just my bc pills.

I've been on other types of birth control in the past, this isn't the first time on birth control. I've actually been on birth control for over a year now. I started out using Nordette and then switched to the patch, which was a waste of time because they kept falling off. I just started back on the pill ( a different kind ) 3 months ago. Sorry, I should have mentioned that.

It takes more than 3 months for the pill to regulate your system and be effective at preventing pregnancy. atleast or more than three months. atleast, or more than.

They also cause all the symptoms of pregnancy.

Go get checked by your doctor and find out whats up. You may be pregnant, miscarrying, or justnot regulated on the pill.

It is possible that you might be preg. but if you take the pills on time and do not miss more than 2 and keep up with them then it is very unlikely. birth control is like 92-95% effective and when taken right they are almost always 100% guaranteed to work. I would not worry or get excited yet( sounds like you might want a baby) I think that it is possible but very unlikely. I would take a test or go see doc. if this happens again. or if the test is positive.
