Honey, ideally you should have been taking them while you were trying to conceive! They are very important to the health and well being of your pregnancy. There are things in them that you just do not get no matter how good your diet is. Like Folic Acid....that is very important and you need it early in your pregnancy.
Why have you waited so long? Do you have a doctor?
If you are worried that the vitamins will make you nauseous then take them with a meal or take them when you go to bed, with a snack, that way if they make you nauseous you will sleep thru it.
Please don't put off something this important for fear of a little nausea.
It really is important. Be sure to take them while you are breastfeeding also. It is equally important that you are very well nourished and well rested to make the best milk for your sweet baby!
Take care of yourself honey, get lots of rest, eat lots of good food and pamper yourself. Enjoy your pregnancy and all the wonder that you have to look forward to.
And, BTW, Congratulations!
Love and Blessings
Lady T~

It is best if you take them now. A lot of research suggests that you should take them before you even get pregnant, if it is a planned pregnancy. Yes, they make some people sick, & if you throw them up, it really doesn't do much good to take them. Start taking them now, and if they make you sick, consult your doctor and ask him what you can take (as in, just a Folic Acid tablet or whatever) instead of the prenatal vitamen to keep you from getting sick and to keep your baby healthy.

You should have been taking them since before you got pregnant, but better late than never. (I do realize that some people get pregnant accidentally and aren't taking prenatals all the time.)

Prenatals can make you sick at any time, pregnant or not. Some people just have a hard time handling them. You can try taking them at night instead of in the morning, or get children's vitamins and take two of them. You can also get just straight folic acid, since that's the most important thing. Just make sure you are taking 800mcg of FA and you'll be doing alright.

I don't know about making you sick, but I do know that the first trimester is the time where you want to make sure to be taking at least a folic acid supplement. We started taking prenates a month before we started try9ing to get pregnant.

Take you pre-natals NOW!!!! they are MOST important in the beginning!!!! Make sure you take them with food, and sorry to say, but just about anything will make you sick during pregnancy, if you have a sensitive stomach! Anyway...take them with food, and take them just before you go to bed, then you will be asleep, and won't be able to feel your stomach ache, if they do give you one. Also there a many many different kinds of pre-natals, if the ones you are taking make you sick, tell your doctor, and he can get a different kind for you. Good luck with eveyrthing!

your suppsed to take them before getting pregnant, and while pregnant the whole time. The fetus uses the greatest ammount of minerals and folic acid during the first 8-12 weeks.

You try them when pregnant, and if they make you sick you try another brand, or a regular vitamin, or a flinstones, or something. If all else fails you stop taking them and wait until your morning sickness passes.

You are actually supposed to start taking them 3-6 months before you "plan" on getting pregnant...with my 1st son they made me very sick, with my 2nd they didn't bother me...if you can't take the prenatals just take a flinstone everyday...that is what my dr said

you should start taking your prenatal vitamins even when you find out you're pregnant. the vitamins are a supplement in case you don't eat all the necessary food. especially, if you are nauseated, you need to take your prenatals.
you can drink "Ensure For Moms" they come in all flavors chocolte, vanilla, strawberry. You can drink that as a substitute for your prenantal vitamin if you are sick or you can drink Ensure as a complement to your prenatal vitamins.
You can find Ensure for Moms in all the stores.

you really should start taking them because the vitamins they have in them you don't get on a daily basis. they will make you sick if you don't put anything on you stomach first but once you get use to them you will be fine. some people don't take theirs but I do because i know i don't always eat healthy and my baby is missing out on alot of what the prenatal vitamins provide.

I thought you were supposed to start taking them before you're pregnant, too. The sooner the better.

To avoid sickness, take them an hour before you go to bed. That way, you'll be sick in your sleep!
