50 Ways To Leave Your Lover Lyrics

(Paul Simon)
The problem is all inside your head
She said to me
The answer is easy if you
Take it logically
I'd like to help you in your struggle
To be free
There must be fifty ways
To leave your lover

She said it's really not my habit
To intrude
Furthermore, I hope my meaning
Won't be lost or misconstrued
But I'll repeat myself
At the risk of being crude
There must be fifty ways
To leave your lover
Fifty ways to leave your lover

CHORUS:
You Just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

She said it grieves me so
To see you in such pain
I wish there was something I could do
To make you smile again
I said I appreciate that
And would you please explain
About the fifty ways

She said why don't we both
Just sleep on it tonight
And I believe in the morning
You'll begin to see the light
And then she kissed me
And I realized she probably was right
There must be fifty ways
To leave your lover
Fifty ways to leave your lover

hi, really there is no best way to leave a lover. Any way that you do it someone is going to get hurt. My advice to you is just be honest with the other person and don't wait long to leave, the longer you wait the harder it will get trust me on this..
good luck

Well, I've heard there are 50 ways, but I think the only way is openly, honestly and by causing as little pain as possible. You always want to try to do this as you would have it done to you -- kind of Golden Rule like. You would want the truth (but not so much brutal truth that you had great pain) and you would want to be told openly so you had some sense of closure. Aside from that, there's not much more you can ask for, or do for someone.

Well just tell him to meet you somewhere and tell him. Your thru. ANd walk away. And if your leaving together and it's his house just get your stuff and tel him your leaving. If it's your place tell hiom he needs to move out or if he doesn't when he leaves next time change the locks on the door.

Cry over his shoulder and tell him nicely that you would no be able to meet again. After that go back to your home and take a deep breath and consider this relationship a dead one and quieten yourself.Await a new dawn and be optimistic as new opportunities lie ahead of you.

With some sincere, quick explanations - but don't linger, once you've said your peace, leave before they ask and beg and promise.

Get a new lover first. Then you won't be lonely.

There really is no "best way." Honesty, to yourself and your partner, is still the best policy.

don't leave them for someone else, give them reasons but don't beat them down for their flaws, if you leave well and you both move on you might be friends one day
