If it is just the eye movement, I wouldn't worry about it. BUT if it is eye movement with the baby tensing up and/or thrashing, or anything else that you feel uneasy with, I would definately go to the Dr. This could mean a seizure or some kind of internal brain malfunction. If the eye movement is by itself, then I wouldn't worry too much as a newborn cannot focus their eyes like we can....if it really bothers you, it wouldn't hurt to go to the dr and have the baby checked to make sure everything is fine and to ease your mind. Ask your pediatrician. But, it probably is just a nervous twitch caused by the moving around of people in the area where they are. Babies do a lot of twitching and wiggling trying to get comfy inside their clothes. After all, their system is very sensitive for a long time. Friends 06

It may be normal, but if the baby is looking normal and then her eyes begin vibrating, it could be a seizure disorder. Definately don't wait to discuss this with your doctor.

because their eyes cannot focus until about the 3rd month. They cant see anything and they often roll their eyes to extreme angles and look really strange. They also have shaky eyes while they try to look around the room or look at people and things.
They simply dont know how to use and control their eyes yet.

It could be sever jaundice, it could just be that the baby cant focus yet and so is trying hard to focus and cant or it could be a problem Id get it checked out to be sure and on the safe side.

It's hard for a new born to focus, so don't worry about weird eye movements :)
