Winter has hit and I've discovered that my windshield wiper fluid is not the kind that has antifreeze. Is there a way that I can drain what's in there now so I can go ahead and fill it with the winterized fluid or can I just add the winterized kind to what's left in there now?It has totally frozen up and now I can't use it at all.

On the bottom of the washer reservoir, there is a little pump, usually black in color. There will be a small hose coming off of it. Remove the hose. Park the vehicle in a warm garage or take some hot water and dump it into the reservoir. As the washer solvent melts, it will come out of the pump and dump on the ground. Once all the fluid is out of the vehicle, re-install the hose, add your cold weather washer solvent and use your washers to run some of the good fluid through the hoses.

I had the same thing happen to me last year. Just add a little rubbing alcohol to the tank, and then add the winterized fluid, all should be fine. the only problem is that it is probably frozen in the tubes as well, but all u need is a day above 32 and that will thaw

put the anti freeze one on top of the frozen stuff. when it thaws it will mix together. Check in a few weeks to see if you are down any fluid and add the anti freeze fluid again

Park in the sun or something until it thaws. Just run the washer until all of the old stuff squirts out, then fill it with the new stuff. It its really frozen, try a car wash and maybe that will thaw it??

add the fluid. it will mix in the container but if it is frozen then it will have to melt first. If it melts you can drain it by using the windshield washer until empty
Simple answer but it's not rocket science.

you can pour some hot water in the tank for wiper fluid to heat it up enough to melt it,then sit there and press the windshield washer cleaner button and finish the fluid then replace with the anti-freeze fliud so this doesent happen again.thats one option

You will need to thaw whats in there and refill. If you can get the car inside till it thaws, or add hot water to thaw and then siphon the water out and refill with the proper fluid.

no matter what you will have to wait till it thaws but when it does just turn on the sprayer till it runs out (it wont take long) then replace.
