I have dogs, cats & kids, which is the very best canister vacuum? I have hard wood floors and one area rug. Suction is the key and I want a vacuum that will not loose it ever!!!

I use them on steps, furniture , drapes, cobwebs, etc. because the convenience of the reach, high and low, coupled with the power of a full size shop vac! Much better than trying to carry one of canisters or roll it around on wheels.Get one , trust me you will love the power, the price, and the versatility! Also, they are easy to empty, and no bag.

I love my Dyson Animal DC07. It's pricy and it's heavy, but it's awesome at picking up pet hair, cat litter, crumbs, carpet fuzz, and whatever else accumulates on my floors. It use it on tile, laminate, and area rugs. I've used it on carpet in the past, and I'm amazed at the stuff this Dyson picks up that other vacuums leave behind. Try vacuuming the carpet with your old vacuum and then vacuum it again with the Dyson to see what it picks up. You don't have to buy any filters for a Dyson either.
