Why was Super Man considered a hero in his society? Why was Batman cosidered a "menace" (I think just at first right? then the Commish. was glad to have him around? Is that correct? I can't remember cause of the movies distorting everything) in his society? Would both beconsidered vigilantees in our society?

Yeah, they'd definitely be vigilantes in the eyes of the law, though society would probably hail them as heroes.

Batman, known as the Dark Knight, was a dark hero, specifically because he wasn't afraid of killing or hurting villains. Had he been caught by the police, he would've probably been tried and convicted for many murders and assaults and probably ended up in the electric chair.

Superman, on the other hand, was an alien. He he been caught, they would've probably just deported him.
