Yes, schools in America take a holiday for Christmas. I think most of us do not study because we have nothing to study. We are starting completely new classes when we get back from Christmas break (2 semesters...4 classes each semester).
Some stay home and some go on vacation but most of the time it is always fun. And we get about 2 weeks off...

Schools in America take a long break Christmas Break, usually for 2 weeks, but it's called Winter Break, not Christmas Break.

Yes, schools in my area close for the entire week of Christmas and the week after. Generally, there is no homework to do during that time. Children are expected to relax with their families and enjoy holiday festivities.

Yes, we get a break around christmas; for college, it's the break between semesters, but for high schools it's often right before finals, which makes for a sucky break. Younger than high school, it's just time off.

yes well it depends on the family some take vacations some just sit at home do as they please and celebrate when the holiday comes with the rest of their family which is great! i truly think it should be a longer break than what it is its barely a full two whole weeks.
