If your letter(s) to Santa are dealt with in the traditional English way, they should be burned in the fire grate so that the ash goes up the chimney. I am not sure what state they arrive in when Santa gets them.
If you do not like this idea you can write to an address in Lapland or simply address it to Father Christmas or Santa Clause c/o Lapland and it will probably get delivered. The Lapland postal service works 90 hours a day clearing Santa's mail in the run up to Christmas.
Yo-Ho-Ho...Happy Christmas.

well, it depends what they are postmarked. the address. zip code. if it says "north pole" then i think that's invalid and gets thrown away.
i bet the people at the post office collect them and read them..have a few good laughs before they end up in the dumpster.

I saw this place on travel channel that said most of the letters that kids write to "santa" go there. I think it's in Canada. The post office just sends them all there.

Santa gets them all of course. I know this because no matter how broke I am the children always seem to get what they asked for (spoilt little devils!!)

When i was young i use to wonder if Santa has all the time in the world to read millions of letters! which of course is NOPE! he don't read none of them coz he never receives them! even if he did receive them he would probably throw them away!
