I cant get into all the MTV teenie bopper stuff. Im looking for artists that are for a mature adult audience yet not lame. Something that doesnt involve a whiney teenager strumming powerchords complaining about life. Thanks!

I have always loved John Mayer, and I feel my tastes are sophisticated. I also enjoy listening to Coldplay, Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson, Pete Yorn, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Matt Field. I totally agree with you about the "whiney teenager"s, WHAT THE HELL DO THEY HAVE TO BE SO ANGRY ABOUT??
Any of the above give you easy listening, and thought provoking lyrics! Enjoy...Mayer's new album Continuum is incredible!

Eric Johnson (incredible clip of him at http://youtube.com/watch?v=ByxMjopyjOk , skip ahead to the :58 mark on the video)
Motörhead
Guns 'n' Roses (Slash doing the "Godfather" theme at http://youtube.com/watch?v=WYTaQC9ZdvA )
Carlos Santana
The Rolling Stones
Cream (incredible bootlegs going around the internet from their live shows, some are just Clapton doing a 30 minute solo)
Pink Floyd ("The Dark Side of the Rainbow": "The Dark Side of the Moon" blended in with "The Wizard of Oz" at http://video.yahoo.com/video/play?p=Dark+Side+of+the+Rainbow&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8&b=0&oid=83783d9179eba0b2&rurl=cacadoigt.hautetfort.com&vdone=http%3A%2F%2Fvideo.yahoo.com%2Fvideo%2Fsearch%3Fp%3DDark%2BSide%2Bof%2Bthe%2BRainbow%26toggle%3D1%26cop%3Dmss%26ei%3DUTF-8 )

Look for music deemed as "Classic Rock"---groups like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, the Who. You can't go wrong with that route.

Its called Adult alternative music...On the music channel you can find it there and in the music dept., ( DVD, or tapes) , at certain stores sell them under that name. Adult music. Rob Zombie is one of them...and you can't get much more adult then that. Personally I love the Black-eyed Peas., Nelly Furtado,Rihanna, etc.

lmfao! why not try some of the classics.. mozart, beetoven, Rachmaninoff, dvorak....

you're not going to get satisfaction from the popular music scene. it's all been done before.. over done, tedious, tride, lame, corporate, over played, been there, done that....

move onto someting a bit more fabric... more satisfying.. saturating.
