I know that it only takes weaing an article of clothing to block or a piece of paper to stop Alpha radiation because it's penetrating power is low. Beta radation can be stopped by heavy clothng and has a medium penetrating power. Gamma radiation has a HIGH penetrating power and takes like a thick piece of concrete or lead to stop it's penetration power. These websites can help.
