1. Decide that you are going to stop. Pick a day and say that's it. No more nibbling. Now here are a few little ways to help.
2. There are some bitter tasting liquids that can painted onto the nails. I don't know anyone who actually liked the taste, so this is going to slow you down and give your nails a little time to start growing.
3. The minute you wash your hands, re-apply the liquid mentioned above. This will also focus attention on your hands and the nails which should be visible by now.
4. Keep an emery board in every room and one in your backpack or purse. The minute you notice a snag, use the emery board and not your teeth.
5. Buy a few bottles of pretty polish and some hand cream. You are going to keep your nails polished and your hands soft. In a weeks time, you are going to notice a difference.
6. Once a biter, always a biter. I have stopped, but it only takes a snag for me to revert back to old habits. I have to follow these tips too.
7. You might have been looking for a magical way to stop biting your nails, but I'm afraid that there is no such thing. You simply have to put your mind to it and stop!
8. Will power is an amazing thing. If you want something badly enough, you can do it. If you want pretty nails, you are the only person who can stop it from happening.

i know im not a girl but i've seen the girls at school doing this and our computer teacher tried it aswell there's this type of nail polish which you can get in different colours and you put that on your nails and every time you go to bite your nails yuo get the most revolting taste ever just remember to change the flavour every now and again because you can get quite used to the flavour if your dumb enough to keep biting your nails, you should be able to buy them from shops like accesories and chemists aswell...Good Luck!

Nail biting is actually displaced anxiety. Try a product called bitter apple, it tastes really bad. Remember all of the germs and fungus that exists under your nails. Get a sillicone filled stress ball to squeeze when you feel like biting your nails.

try a special clear nail polish for nail biters. I think there's one called bite-no-more, or something like that. They have them at most drug stores. They taste disgusting, so you won't want to bite them anymore. Just make sure you don't become immune to the taste, like my brother did, otherwise you won't really care about the taste much. If you don't want to buy anything, try holding something in both hands at all times, like stress balls, or small stones. This will keep your hands occupied, and away from your mouth.

i have this very same problem. i think you should try putting something bitter or spicy on your finger to keep your fingers out of your mouth. unlike me, id probably just lick the stuff off and continue biting my nails, hehe. i mean if you put on nail polish you'll probably end up biting that off too, i mean thats what i do. yes, i realize im kind of gross but its true. you could also try wearing gloves for a day or keep your hands in your pockets to avoid temptations. hope it will work for you, though it never works for me :-/

if your a girl then get sum stuff from boots "let em grow" does exactly what it says on the box but careful, the taste is discusting, makes you want to throw up or if you dont want to try that then buy a plastic ring or something and when ever you want to bite ur nails, bite the ring instead

Maybe you have a problem with stress. If you do then a counsellor could help which your doctor could arrange for you to see. Or if there is no problem the local pharmacist will recommend something to paint on your nails-something bitter.
