Hi there. This is one question that I can answer from personal experience. My pelvic bone was badly crushed in a near fatal traffic accident. I went on to have four beautiful, full term babies. The only problem was that I needed to have C-sections as my pelvic bone never healed correctly.
Depending on how long it has been since she broke her pelvic bone she might have to spend some of her pregnancy on bed rest, as the baby gets bigger. Her doctor will be able to advise her on this.
Contrary to popular belief C-sections these days are wonderful, I was awake, saw my babies born, never had any pain during delivery and minimal pain afterwards. They even let me nurse my babies in the OR while they were putting things back together.
There may be some long term complications as in the development of arthritis, this happened to me but does not happen to everyone. It cannot be avoided if it is going to happen.
Take care and tell your friend that I hope everything goes well.
Love and Blessings

You can carry a baby with an old fracture with no problem. The doctors will be able to tell if delivery is going to be an issue. Generally its not.
A womans pelvis actually expands during delivery, and unless the fracture siezed up the pelvis' ability to flex, then natural delivery wouldnt be an issue at all, so long as her natural anatomy allowed for it.
In the cases where she couldnt naturally deliver, either for reasons of injury or anatomy, a c-section would be scheduled.
Its really as simple as that.
Sounds like the mom is just trying to think of reasons why this has ruined her daughters life.

If it healed in some bizarre way it may require a c-section, other than that no. And it would have no bearing an the ability to conceive or carry a baby to term. Mom may be uncomfortable but the pelvis does not support the baby, the uterus and other muscles do.

My wife has a friend who broke her pelvis falling off of a horse, and is now a proud and happy mother of a 12month old beautiful girl. Breaking your pelvis does not prevent you from getting pregnant, although may make birthing difficult, depending on where the break is. Worst case scenario would be a c-section.

Her doctor would be able to tell her if she would be able to carry the baby to term. She might have to do bed rest when she gets into her late 2nd trimester.
