If the u/s shows a normal gestational sac, yolk sac and fetal pole, does that mean everythings going to be ok? Would there be something wrong w/ the u/s if the fetus had stopped growing?

As long as the fetus matches the hormone levels, and growth is where it should be for the number of weeks the fetus is, then everything is fine.

if the fetus had stopped growing then the heart rate wouldnt be right, or it wouldnt be beating at all.

You should ask these things at the time of the procedure, or call your doctor and get answers. Only they can answer for your particular situation.

When you have an early ultrasound it mainly assures that the baby is in the right position and makes sure nothing seems abnormal, but this does not guarantee that things will always stay this way as it is too early to determine if the child has down syndrome which they will be able to see when the fetus is more developed. There are too many things that they cannot see when you have an early ultrasound that is why it is important that you have a follow up of one when he/she is more developed.

Good Luck.

Sounds good to me (normal).. I am guess you have had a problem before and that is why you are asking.. or you have heard of problems.. keep having regular check ups your doctor is the best one to detect any problems that might happen.. they should send you for another ultra sound later on in the pregnancy... So take it easy and enjoy your baby... I know when i had my early ultra sound thought my baby looked like the planters peanut guy.. just with out the Accessories..

AS for stop growing every check up they do check the heart beat.. if you get really worried the baby is not going to see your Dr.. they usually measure your belly as well..

A fetus can stop growing at anytime. The risk of miscarriage doesn't go down to 2% until around the 12th week.

i dont want to worry you but i have had early scans that have shown everything to be ok and i have misscarried.

if you have another scan in about a week it should show if it has stopped growing.

its a good sign if you feel sick, tired, sore breasts.

i had a scan at 7 weeks saw babys heartbeat
(earlier than that and it cant be seen, didnt see anything with scan a week earlier) if you see that at your next scan and the baby is growing it more than likely will be ok.
(im now 9 weeks and baby still fine)
if at any point you bleed or get cramps etc go to the doctors straight away

Sounds like it's going good to me!!! I had one at about 5wks and there was a tiny tiny fluttering, looked like the heart beat but the doctor didn't want to say for sure then. But at my next appt. it was for sure! I had a previous ectopic that's why I had to have a few early ultrasounds. But you sound fine! Congratulations!!!!!! How far along are you?? Good Luck!!!!
