when the trinket or thing comes flying out after you've pulled a cracker do you scramble after it first and/or rugby tackle them lol
and the kids look on in amazement??!

for those who truly dont know what a xmas cracker is it's a traditional long thin explosive (!) piece of card inserted in a tube much like the shape of an empty loo roll and this in turn is wrapped in festive paper and decorations and tied liked a sausage with two scrunched ends to hold on to. The crackers usually contain little gifts inside, the bigger the cracker usually the bigger the trinket but not always true lol. But they also have paper hats inside and often cheesy jokes written on bits of paper. Two people on either end of the cracker pull, it breaks the explosive strip, it goes bang and the trinkets, hat and joke fly or drop out. But it's a lorra lorra fun!

for those who asked me how to make them the best size and shape really is an empty loo roll, make sure you serrate it in the middle so it'll snap with the wrapping when it's pulled. Have fun!

Funny you should say this I have bought some Wade crackers because I collect the little Wade figurines. Your question is now making me think that perhaps I should just keep the whole box to myself and go get another cheap box of crackers! Oh isn't that terrible!

I think everyone does lol.. It's part of our inbuilt competitional nature.

If you hold the cracker real close to the middle you have a better chance of winning the unknown hidden toy :)
