Don't be scared to show off your legs. They make pantyhose for men you know. Check out http://www.comfilon.com Hosiery is a unisex article of clothing. Clothing has no effect on whether you are gay or straight, by the way.

It's this kind of paranoia that is preventing pantyhose from being unisex clothing. In spite of that pantyhose will probably be largely unisex this year because athletes are discovering the benefits of light graduated compression pantyhose. (Kobe Bryant and other NBA players not to mention football players and sportsmen for years have been using pantyhose and not advertising it). One maintains energy levels longer thus there is an advantage over those who don't wear them.
Look at the references below (carefully). Pantyhose manufacturers are now making sizes to better fit men (taller and bigger feet) and they are not targeting the small gay community that really doesn't go in for that stuff anyway. Manufacturers are spending big bucks so it is going to happen! In most cases non medical grade pantyhose will work fine and they are a lot cheaper and look better so consider that. Just get Graduated Compression Pantyhose and women's pantyhose fit men just fine so don't worry about that. Changing the name on the package to suit men or designing "men's" features into them is really a marketing ploy and not necessary when you get hose with 20 to 30% Lycra due to the stretch fitting every shape.
Also prevents tick bits (remember Lyme disease is around) and bites from other bugs. (Military uses them for sand fleas in Iraq). Also will keep you cool if worn with shorts so you have evaporative cooling due to the wicking properties of the materials while you are moving. Under pants they will keep you a bit warmer. They really are high tech clothing that most women have never figured out how to use or fit properly and men are now paving the way.
The benefits are great and everyone should consider that fact whether you have a leg problem or not. The are considered PREVENTIVE for Varicose veins so when older you will have great looking legs! Also prevents night cramps. At end of day you have more energy and just a good feeling so wear them! (Circulation improves). One caveat... You might have to try various brands, sizes and materials to find one that is really comfortable but when you do you will never look back! You will soon put them on as you would any underwear without thinking about it.
Bottom line to it's your legs and your brain who gives a crap what others "think" when you are the one benefited? Go ahead and wear them with shorts!

After many hours of research, this answer is perfect. It seems there are a lot of men out there who are not "Freaks" or "perverts" that are in the same boat as me.
Thanks for taking the time to write such a good response!

I have diabetes, neuropathy (pain, and numbness in the toes) and debilitating leg cramps. This is all due to agent orange poisoning, from the Vietnam war.
I was told by the v.a. to wear--at least--60 100 or more is better) den compression tights. I was told to wear women's because they support better, and are less expensive. I did try men's but they suck. I spent hundreds of dollars looking. I wear the tights and they help. It's a shame that our society places lables on so much they do not even understand.

so you don't wear shorts so they are always covered up under your dress pants or jeans then. First of all no one business so dn't worry what people will think your wearing them after all underneath and for medical reasons.
If you have to wear them you have to wear them . get your health in order and don't worry what the public thinks. its not like your wearing them on the outside and strangers walking by wouldn't understand its a medical condition.

Wear them until they become second nature to have on. Once you get comfortable with tights, you'll be confident enough that you won't care what people think. However, the public will always notice you b/c of your different apparel.
