A northern seaside resort on the west coast which has seen better days, It was once "THE" holiday place to go to when the nearby industrial towns all had their holidays at the same time and became very popular as an inexpensive bed-and-breakfast centre. It became famous when Blackpool Tower was first erected - it having been designed by one Mr Eiffel! - and soon became well known for its three piers, the ballroom, the circus and the Wintergardens and associated Theatre as well as having a tramway which as well as serving most parts of the town (before being cut back to the promenade only) also went to the nearby small port of Fleetwood. It even had (and still has) its own zoo! Most of these were allowed to "go downhill" over the course of time but are now looking to the future with the possibility of the coming of "real" casinos.

I think its great during the week - go back to being a child and eating candy floss, and sticks of rock, and getting ill on the roller coasters (although there is only one good one - the big one or whatever its called these days). No raw sewage on the beach any more either. Bonus!
Weekend is a different matter. If you are not drunk at 9 in the morning and on a stag or hen do you will definately feel out of place. Just take some bunny ears, L plates and a couple of bottles of vodka and you'll be well at home.

Imagine Las Vegas after it has been under a shrinking ray, then add poo on the beach, hotdog wrappers along the streets, and piss-poor lights along the promenade. It's great.
