i get a pop up that says "security certificate cannot be authentic" and it keeps asking "do you still want to proceed?" ..Like what shows on computers at the public library.. how can i override this annoying problem? Is it a security setting? Also, i think the year on my pc is 2029.. does that have anything to do with it, and if so how can i change the date? Aggghhrrh

Click on tools (at the top), Internet options, and click on the advanced tab. Go down to security and you will find it there. To change the date, you will have to re-start the computer and watch closely...it will give you the option to hit the delete button (I think). You can change computer settings from there.

You're probably getting that error because the date is wrong on your computer. You can change that easily. Just double-click the clock in the System Tray. Set the date and time, it should be obvious how to do it.

It's not a good idea to disable verification of security certs. There are phony certs out there, usually self published. If things are not as they should be, you really do want to know about it.
