Someting that you might not expect is that the sun moves from right to left.

We don't usually think of it this way, because we talk about the sun moving from east to west. But in the northern temperate zone, it passes SOUTH of us on its path from east to west, which means that it's moving left to right. In the southern temperate zone, this is reversed, and the sun moves from right to left.

If you're used to observing the sun and picturing (subconsciously) which way it's going, this is something of a surprise.

Otherwise, being in Australia seems perfectly normal ... in an Aussie sort of way.
