Wow - what a wide-open question. There are as many natural antibiotics as there are readers out there.

Here are some of the best known, most widely available:

Goldenseal Root - specific against staph; for all mucous membranes: urinary tract, ear infection, stomach ulcer, mouth sores, etc. Not in pregnancy

Wild Thyme - specific for chest infection

Myrrh - infective sore throat, wounds that won't heal, boils, fungal infections, mouth sores

Blue Flag Root - skin and soft tissue infection, lymph glands

Garlic - especially for bronchitis, asthma, whooping cough and phlegm of sinusitis

Nasturtium - externally for wounds, also for emphysema, bronchitis, flu, bladder disease

Poke Root - combines well with Echinacea and Myrrh for glands and lymphs - dose 2-5 drops liquid extract

I've had good results with Goldenseal root & Cranberry to clear up persistent UTI. Also use Goldenseal tincture or Echinacea Root tincture on external infections (but it stains yellow). Echinacea is specific for ear infection.

Very important to abstain from sugary food while fighting infection. Also slight fever is desirable so avoid fever-reducers unless it becomes critical. (Yarrow is good to increase body temp slightly.)

Colloidal silver works very well, and has been included in many antibiotics mixtures. It can also be used topically or taken orally. Although I haven't tried it myself, Oregano oil is supposed to be a very good natural antibiotic, though it carries a $30 price tag for about 2-3 ounces. Garlic is supposed to have some antibiotic action as well. Colloidal silver is probably your best bet though.

I have experienced many times Indian 'Neem' to be the best natural antibiotic. If you have tooth ache,a cut in the mouth, bleeding gums, wounds or boils just mesh 'Neem' leaves to make a semi solid paste by any means (the traditional method of making chutnry on manual stone grinder is best) and place carefully about a small spoon of the stuff around the infected area and close your mouth for atleast and an hour or as long as you can. In case of tooth ache or bleeding painful gums you may stuff the chutney between tooth and inside cheek. Works best when you go to sleep and keep it over night. Remember the paste should not be of loose consistancy, it should be some what semi-solid; a dry chutney pehaps, otherwise it will leak fast into the stomach. Do not spit , just keep swalloing the saliva. Most often than not you will find the minor infection/pain gone in one such nightly dose. For sevear infections 3-4 such treatments may be necessary. In the morning after the night or after as long as you can keep in mouth in day you may spit and rinse your mouth with water to clear up the remains. Along with this boil a handful of neem leaves in water for 5-10 minutes and rinse your mouth 3-4 times a day with 'Neem' water. For out side wounds or infections washing the same with 'Neem' water 2-3 times would aid in fast healing. And although I have yet to experiment but I have a strong belief that dry 'Neem' leaves fine powder if sprinkled on wound and then loosely covered should clear up the wound fast.

A word of caustion : Do not, in any case, let the saliva accumulate in your mouth and do not sleep face up otherwise your throat may get choked in case of sudden cough. Keep on swalloing the saliva.

Personally I take colloidal silver, it's a known antibiotic and was used by doctors before the advent of the 'pills'. Back in the olden times they would put silver dollars in their milk to keep it from spoiling (no refrigerators in those days). Colloidal silver is expensive in the stores. You can make it at home for pennies. If you do a search on your favorite search engine you will find a great deal of info about CS and how to make it yourself.

It depends on what and where the infection is.

When we were children if we got a cut that became infected my mum would have us soak the area in warm water and salt.
It worked in the 1960's so I assume it will work now lol.

Garlic..
After a meal with garlic, chewing a sprig of parsley is said to dispel the pungent odour, making life a little more pleasant for those around you!

P.S. if one is taking anticoagulants, such as Coumadin, one should consult one's physician before starting garlic therapy.
