Stocks that are pumped via spam or the web are generally penny stocks looking for a quick bump. They are sub-par companies if they need to use this illegal "pump and dump" tactic.
Put your money in a growth stock mutual fund with a good track record over 10 years or more. International funds are particularly hot right now.

In earlier days communication was not so easy. Now it is easier. There are genuine advisors as well as those claim to be techies. it is for you to decide. If you are into trading already, you might have known most of them by now, if you are a newbie, best of luck.
